New growth on a sickly plant is really quite exciting. It elicits a small squeak of joy when I discover the tiny green leaves pushing their way out of the stem, full of vim and vigour. This Croton is on a seemingly endless cycle of near-death and rejuvenation, but I am trying extra hard this year to look after it consistently.
