Tiny Pleasures #30: A Big Zucchini

From little things big things grow. Isn’t that the truth when we’re talking about zucchinis? I can hear the zucchini growers out there nodding their heads vigourously. One day you notice a cute little zucchini on the plant and you think, I’ll just leave it a day or two and it will be perfect. Two days later you go out to the veggie patch and it’s no longer a zucchini, but a big green zeppelin in the middle. Or worse, you didn’t even see the little zucchini in the first place and then you find it has materialised overnight, already gigantic. It seems physically impossible for them to grow so quickly, but the humble zucchini defies all the laws of biology and does it anyway.

This zucchini was a grown by my beloved and is one of many large examples he has been kind enough to offer me this season. Imagine how enormous the Valentine’s Day one will be!
