Community Songwriting Projects
Amie’s Community Songwriting Project is a fun and creative project that gives community members a chance to collaborate on writing a song about their town. The process begins with a workshop with community members to generate ideas for stories and sounds. These ideas will be focussed on the town – its features and characteristics, history, environment, culture, activities, community, and how people feel about living, working and playing there. The workshop will also delve into the songwriting process as Amie shares how she goes about creating a song, from first ideas to finished song.
Amie then takes all the ideas from the workshop back to her studio and turns them into a song. She shares that process with the community as the song progresses, with room for feedback and ideas. Once finished, Amie records the song and publishes it online. She can also bring the song home in a special live performance on a return visit to the town.

What a lovely idea – if you are travelling further afield, sure the good folk here in Milton and Ulladulla on the NSW south coast would love to get involved 😉
