My son brought me home grown cherries today. The most amazing flavour and juicy explosion in the mouth. I'm trying not to eat them all in one go.

Tomato seedlings are in the ground. The rule in Ballarat is not to plant them out until after Melbourne Cup Day for fear of frost. A dozen are now in two neat rows, ready to grow like billy-o. May the vegetable gods smile upon them!
While hanging the washing out today, a flash of red in the veggie patch caught my eye. Twas the first strawberry of the season flaunting its fruitiness in the afternoon sunshine. Its bottom is not ready yet, but in few days I shall savour the tiny burst of flavour. Tis the flavour of the promise
