Happy New Year friends. It’s been a while between posts, but I have decided to return to the daily words for 2024. Many tiny pleasures have danced through my days since I last wrote in 2020 – discovering a pretty garden down a back lane, bumping into friend on a Thursday afternoon, remembering a song from last century, a delightful interaction with a stranger on the bus, the second sip of a delicious wine, sickly plants returning to life, picking a lettuce from my garden for lunch … the list goes on.
A New Year always seems full of promise and adventures big and small, and this first of January is a particularly lovely sunny one to greet the year. I have strolled around my garden, ignoring the weeds, and admired the unripe fruit hanging on the apple and nectarine trees, the flowers on the strawberries, and the potato shoots popping out of the ground. Life and healthy growth abound. May that be a sign of a verdant year ahead with an abundance of tiny pleasures!
