I spotted the cover of ‘Le Mariage de la Tour Eiffel’ on the wall in a little French café in Thornbury. It’s such a delightful illustration, with all those curvy hand-drawn lines making the Eiffel Tower look quite jovial. The book was published in 1931 and is a fantastical tale of the Eiffel Tower as a young lady who ends up marrying the Great Sea Serpent.
