How much fun is it to turn something stale into something delicious? This morning I improvised a bread and butter pudding from the remains of a very dry, old loaf of bread and some milk that was about to turn. I added a couple of eggs, a sprinkle of spice and spoonful of sugar to the pan and popped in the oven. Like alchemy, the result was tasty, texturally satisfying and the perfect snack for a chilly winter’s day.
(This is a photo of someone else’s pudding. Mine was gobbled up too quickly to snap.)
