While hanging the washing out today, a flash of red in the veggie patch caught my eye. Twas the first strawberry of the season flaunting its fruitiness in the afternoon sunshine. Its bottom is not ready yet, but in few days I shall savour the tiny burst of flavour. Tis the flavour of the promise – of warmth and summer to come.
