My heart skips a beat when the first Mangos of the season arrive in the fruit shop. They herald the promise of summer and the joy of mango juice dribbling down your chin on a hot day. And I love the zingy flavour that the early ones have.

Tiny Pleasures #290: Sewing Deadline Met

It's probably not advisable to try to get a sewing task finished before catching a train. Usually that kind of pressure results in dreadful mistakes. But today, my white waiter's apron was started and finished with enough time to stroll calmly to the train.

How sweet it is when you design a little something and it turns out to be quite perfect for another use. I designed the Book Bar bookmarks as a little freebie, but it turns out they look fabulous marking the pages in the books on my trolley. If you're in Queenscliff or Point Lonsdale this

Tiny Pleasures #288: Sovereign Hill Volunteering

2024-10-10T23:11:56+11:00October 10th, 2024|people, Tiny Pleasures|

I taught a room full of sales reps to bush dance this evening. It was so much fun watching their serious, grown-up, work faces change into delighted grins as they let themselves enjoy the fun and silliness of the dances. Heel and Toe Polka as therapy, I say. Bush dancing might just be the best

Tiny Pleasures #282: A Refreshing Beer

2024-10-09T20:49:01+11:00October 9th, 2024|drinks, garden, Tiny Pleasures|

It was so nice to have hours and hours of sunshine today. Spring is finally warming up and the garden is beckoning me out to pull acres of weeds. I was rewarded with a refreshing Argentinian beer after my labours, in the warmth of the late afternoon sun.
