My heart skips a beat when the first Mangos of the season arrive in the fruit shop. They herald the promise of summer and the joy of mango juice dribbling down your chin on a hot day. And I love the zingy flavour that the early ones have.
It's probably not advisable to try to get a sewing task finished before catching a train. Usually that kind of pressure results in dreadful mistakes. But today, my white waiter's apron was started and finished with enough time to stroll calmly to the train.

You probably know I'm quite fond of dress-ups and stories and talking to people. Volunteering at Sovereign Hill ticks all these boxes and more. My first day today was perfect weather and I very much enjoyed learning the ropes and meeting people in my flouncy pink ruffles.
The footpath is sending me signals this week. Today's pressed poppy petal on the pavement is much prettier than yesterday's squashed banana peel. Will there be more flattened footpath wisdom in my path? Like a cryptic crossword clue will they eventually form some sense?
I don't know why a super-flat banana peel with tyre marks made me laugh. It seemed quite absurd lying there on the road. I hope it gives you a chuckle too.
A bright yellow mass of flowers is taking over the footpath down my street. I half expect that tomorrow I'll walk down there and it will have expanded overnight, taking over the nature strip and moving onto the road.

It was so nice to have hours and hours of sunshine today. Spring is finally warming up and the garden is beckoning me out to pull acres of weeds. I was rewarded with a refreshing Argentinian beer after my labours, in the warmth of the late afternoon sun.
